The mud hopper principle of operation is based on the Venturi effect (a vacuum is created by changing the speed of water jet mixing chemical with pumping agent (water with drilling fluid) - a decrease in pressure in the flow when passing through narrowing section, which allows you to add polymers, barite, bentonite and other powdery substances. As a result of this design, a vacuum is created in the middle part of the diffuser, where the chemical is introduced into the stream of the pumpt.
