Mud Hopper

Mud hoppers are used for quick and high-quality mixing of chemical in the process of preparing drilling fluids. The mud hopper principle of operation is based on the Venturi effect (a vacuum is created by changing the speed of water jet mixing chemical with pumping agent (water with drilling fluid) - a decrease in pressure in the flow when passing through narrowing section, which allows you to add polymers, barite, bentonite and other powdery substances. As a result of this design, a vacuum is created in the middle part of the diffuser, where the chemical is introduced into the stream of the pumpt.

Typically, mud hopper works with centrifugal pump, pipeline, and control panel, then it is called mud jet mixer. The mud hopper can be used to work with oil and gas drilling mud circulation system, HDD mud cleaning system, TBM mud cleaning system, etc.
