As in the above, the drilling tool consists of a kelly, thin-walled steel drill pipes and drill collars, to the bottom of which the drill bit is attached. Depending on the drilling conditions, centering, calibrating, stabilizing and expanding devices are installed near the bit. The top pipe of the drill string is connected to a swivel, which is suspended from a crown block mounted at the top of the derrick using a hook, a traveling block and a rope.
